There are a lot of different things floating around in the interwebs, on the interwebs, about almost anything, but definitely about blogging and how you should blog and you should do it this way. Or you should do this, you should make money blogging, that way, you should do this with your WordPress blog, you shouldn't do that. All of that stuff. And I deliver some of this stuff here on this podcast in terms of blogging advice. But the worst blogging advice. There's like I said, there's a lot of different things going on out here and good or bad. You're you're not, you're not going to, or shall I say, you're not going to create a successful blog, doing it the way you want to do it the way you want to do it, when it all boils down. Because you're behind the controls. It's your content as your blog, you're gonna you're gonna produce content, how you produce it. So regardless of what I say, regardless of what anybody says, we can only give you tips, strategies, pointers, and all of those things. But you're gonna do, you're gonna do this how you see fit. So in saying that, there's more than one way to a successful blog. There's more than one way to do it.
But the worst advice that that I've heard is, there's really two things that come to mind. The first thing is that you need to write daily no matter what, yes, you need to write daily. That's the one of the worst pieces of advice of blogging to me, that I've heard, because I know, you don't have to write every day blogging is a is a different beast is a different beast. You don't have to write every day. Now, if you have a team of writers and you know, you set out to write a certain amount of blog posts. No, that's okay. However, you can produce it, that's okay. But blogging is crazy, to the point to where you can actually have 100 100 100 This kind of talk here is how we talk here in St. Louis 100. Okay, 100 blogs, you can produce 100, blog posts, and you can release all those hundreds, you can set it up to where they can publish all in one day. Yes, you don't have to write a blog post every day. But you can produce a bunch of content, all at same time, if you want it to. Now, you couldn't do something like that on YouTube, you couldn't produce that because the YouTube algorithm is gonna do something different, it's gonna kinda, you know, around be looking at you are looking at the content, like something's not right here. But on your blog, if you have a self hosted WordPress site where you control your site, you can you can actually do that, but you don't have to write every day. That's crazy. And you have people that say that, and you have people that believe that you don't have to write every day, you can take time, you can have, you're gonna have a schedule where you can write a blog post every week, you can write a blog post every two weeks, if you desire, you can write one every month, if you just I wouldn't recommend every month, I would recommend every week or if you if you're taking a break producing content, you know, take a couple of weeks off. That's okay, too. And I spoke about that in a previous episode, writing every day is not required.
Because what ends up happening is we start to believe that I need to write 3000 put out a 3000 word article every day. And don't put that type of pressure on yourself. I wouldn't put that type of pressure on me. Definitely wouldn't. You don't have to write every day. Now. Here's the flip side. If you want to write every day, go right ahead. You can hurt yourself by writing every day, if that's what you choose to do. Like I said, flipside to that too is if you start experiencing burnout, if you start experiencing burnout, you're going to want to get away from that thing that's giving you anxiety or whatever that comes from that or whatever can come from that. That's why I say I definitely wouldn't write every day. Now if you want to. If you want to If you want to write every day, you can, but I wouldn't do that it's just not sustainable. It's not sustainable. At some point, you're gonna want to get some risk. At some point, you're gonna want to get away. And that's why I also speak about outsourcing.
Outsourcing your blog, hi, hire a writer, if you're able to do so, hire a writer, hire a couple of writers, if you can hire them to produce, hire them to write and do the research, you can still help them out in some ways, get them ready to write, that's a plus, to me, that's that should be the goal. You shouldn't depending on what niche you got, what niche you have, what niche you're writing, about. It all depends, but me personally, I would want I would definitely hire a writer or hire writers, if you have the means once you get that blog to a certain point. Because you want that time. That's what I believe most people want, they want. They want time freedom, or you want to have the ability to write when you want to. But I would hire, I would hire if you're looking for time freedom, I would hire a writer. For me. Outsourcing should be that should be the goal. Like I think about outsourcing before anything. I think about that before anything when starting a blog, outsource How can I how can I outsource it? How can I get someone else to write this content. Now if it's some personal, a personal blog or something like that, it's kind of a different story. But you've still I believe, you still should want somebody to write, you can tell them what the writer was subject to write about. And after some personal of a personal nature, obviously, that should come from you. As far as horrible blogging advice, you don't have to write daily, I just think you're you're setting yourself up for burnout. And you don't want to do that.
Second thing that I had here is there's only two things that was it was need to write daily, you don't need to write daily. The other was the other is focusing on backlinks, those good old days of Blackhat, backlinking, and PD hands and all those different crazy things. What if I told you you can write and write and write and not have to build a single backlink, you can actually do that, eventually, here's what's going to happen. If you have something to go along with your blog, like your podcast, or a YouTube channel. When you write those people from your other traffic source, they're gonna go to your blog, because obviously, you're going to tell them to go to your blog, or they're going to find your blog, they're going to automatically start sharing content. And I'm speaking in terms of if you have a vast majority of people going or if you had, let's just say if you had 1000 visitors, they're gonna start sharing some of your stuff. Or if you had certain amount of viewers on a YouTube video, some of those people whether you tell them or not to go to your blog, they're gonna go there anyway, they're gonna start sharing some of your stuff and you're gonna get backlinks. That way, you don't have to solely focus on building backlinks. Now, I think it's good if you're doing something such as guest blogging, can't go wrong with that. So it's a good honest way of sharing blocks, because if you are guest posting you are, you're going to be writing about a certain topic on your blog, and you're going to want to use a link with a certain type of, obviously a certain type of anchor text targeting a particular keyword or what have you. That's how the chain of backlinks we'll we'll start over there doing that. Also, guest blogging is cool. But you don't have to focus solely on backlinks, especially if you're a beginner, just start right and just start pumping out content. Now that there's a lot of different ways of doing it. There's like different ways of blogging there is so there's no one size fits all. That's what I was trying to think about earlier in the episode. I couldn't for some reason I had a mind freeze a brain block.
That's the thing with blogging advice, there's no one way to do it. There's no one way to blog. Those two things right there. Stick out as soon as I hear about horrible blogging advice or think about writing daily and focusing on backlinks.
