Okay, let's get into this. All right, this is something that I always like to look things up on the Google machine. What is your personal branding, and this is one of the results that came up in his states. Your personal branding refers to how you promote yourself. It is the expertise experience and personality that you want everybody else to see about you. It can be a combination of how the media depicts you the the idea people get from the information they find about you online and how they perceive you in real life. And this was I think this comes from the website influencemarkethub.com.
So I always like to look things up like that, because a lot of times with with terms like personal brand, and people I mean, people, you it sounds self explanatory. And, and to an extent, it really is self explanatory. But we're going to discuss it in more of a you know, in how we use it in terms of digital marketing, and why it's so important for you.
First thing you should do is I'm not going through a list or anything but position yourself as the authority. So that's real big and personal brand. And also position yourself as the authority. So if you are, let's say if you are a dog walker in your town, whatever town that is, whatever city that is around the world, and you are a dog walker, and you want to position yourself as the the authority, the best dog walker in, said, town, city, state, wherever you're at, you know, you want to you want to stand out.
So in order to do it and digital marketing, you want to put out content, you know, so you want to not only put out put out the best content you want to be, you want to be different, you have to be different, you can't be like the other dog walkers in your particular area you want to stand out, because what you're trying to do is you're trying to get the attention of a group of people that have dogs that needs their dogs walked. And whatever that may be in terms of being different. Maybe you walk the dogs longer, maybe you're a little more caring, then the other dog walkers. So you do other other things, you just want to be different. And you can show that throughout your content.
You want to find a niche, you know, I just gave the example of walking a dog. So whatever niche that you're comfortable in, or that you find that you're, you know that that you are basically that you are the expert in. You want to find it and you want to be different, and you want to be the best in that particular niche. But finding that niche, you know, you've heard me throughout this podcast, talk a lot about the search engines and Google and Yahoo, whichever one you use. But that's going to be you know, that's how you that's, that's a good starting point to where to where you want to find that particular niche, because you want to do research on that particular niche.
So however you however you want to do research, so whether it's through the Google machine, as I like to call it or maybe social media, on your social platforms, maybe it's a place like Reddit, Facebook, any of those places, do your research, do your research.
Be yourself. You have to be yourself. You're always going to be different. You know, I'm going to be different. This is not this podcast is going to be different from the other. A lot of other digital marketing podcasts. You know, it may not be that far off but it's going to be different because we all are different in way, because we provide different perspectives. We all think different, we're just different people. So, but you want to be yourself.
And you want to have some sort of personality. So make sure you be yourself and have personality, have fun with it, whatever it whatever it is that, that you that you choose, you want to be different. And you want to have some sort of personality, just be yourself.
With personal branding, and you know this brand ID you know, what's brand ID consistency. Anytime I think about brand ID I think about consistency. I think about let's say your website, you know, you started start your website, and you know your colors, and whatever it is in terms of your your photos, you're gonna, you're gonna be a deed, I'm using my air quotes, you got to be ID by the people that follow you, they're gonna they're gonna remember something about you. And what's crazy about it, people, we are visual people visual learner. So a lot of times you are going to remember a brand by the by its colors. As crazy as that sounds, you will remember it by its color. So brand ID make sure you get your designs and all that stuff, right, not only on your website, but on social as well.
The content that you put out, you have to have a social strategy and some sort of a content strategy. What I am trying to do and and I'm trying to be so consistent at doing this, I want to put out, I want to make sure that I put out now, starting starting or continuing continuing on with this platform.
What I want to make sure I do I want to make sure I put out a podcast a week, I want to make sure that I put out if I'm not putting out a blog post a week, I may put out a blog post every two weeks. But I want to be consistent in doing that. I also want to make sure I put out a YouTube video.
I also want to make sure I'm doing things with my short form content and short form platforms, the way I view view things is in terms of content strategy is TikTok, Instagram, Reels, Snapchat, YouTube shorts. So I want to make sure that I have a content strategy and a social strategy, which is, with your social strategy. You know, you want to make sure not only you know, even though I name those for my short form, there's, there's others also like LinkedIn where I want to make sure I put out a LinkedIn carousel, along with a LinkedIn video. Every week, I want to make sure I'm doing that. So make sure you have a consistent content and social strategy.
You want to make sure that you promote your brand. The best way possible, you know, becoming a guest on podcasts, becoming a guest blogger on different sites. So there's so many ways that you can do that. But in a nutshell, that's personal branding.
But there's a lot more that goes into personal branding, but make sure you keep up the discussion, keep the discussion going. We have a private Facebook group at DigitalMarketingCreators.com/group that's DigitalMarketingCreators.com/group and hey, you can invite people to the group as well. Let's keep the discussion going there. Also, um check out our show notes at DigitalMarketingCreators.com/episode2.
In the next episode, we're going to keep on the Focus Four Series we're going to talk about Brand Messaging. So I'll see you in the next episode. Thank you.
